Bond 2019 Info and Updates

Thanks Union voters!

In November 2019, the Union community passed a $4 million general obligation bond to improve safety, efficiency, accessibility, and to upgrade facilities. The District also received a $4 million state grant from the Oregon School Capital Improvement Matching Program, bringing the project total to $8 million.

Potential projects identified in the District’s pre-bond process include:

  • Security (Intercom/Clock/Bell in every classroom, in all hallways, in all offices)
  • Security (Card Key Access - All main entrances with vestibules and cameras to main offices) High School, Miller, Hutchinson, Gymnasium, Athletic complex
  • Security (Cameras in main hallways, Gymnasiums, cafeteria, parking lots, and athletic complex)
  • Roofing, windows, fixtures, furniture, flooring, paint, fencing, and  sidewalk - Hutchinson
  • Roofing, windows, fixtures, furniture, flooring, playground, and paint - Miller
  • Roofing, windows, fixtures, furniture, flooring, and paint - Gymnasium
  • Roofing, windows, fixtures, furniture, flooring, and paint - Music Room
  • Removal of modular buildings and obsolete duct work in High school
  • Miller- Expansion of Miller Gym- Stage, Sound system, Student based health center, Storage
  • Miller - Flooring in new gym space in Miller with movable backboards, nets, scoreboards, announcement system, and seating.
  • HS - Repoint the brick and Creation of a commons area, windows, fixtures, furniture, flooring, paint, lockers and sidewalk.
  • HS - Resurface the front steps and Handicap access to all area of the high school.
  • Gymnasium - Expansion of the foyer with new restrooms, new concessions, handicap access to foyer and bleachers, expansion of the wresting loft.
  • Gymnasium - New gym floor, new announcement system, score boards, basket brackets, resurfacing bleachers with stain and paint.
  • Update heating systems in all Buildings (Miller, Hutchinson, HS, Music, Gym)
  • Resurfacing HS and Athletic complex parking lots
  • Athletic Complex - Resurface Track with curbing on inside and outside.
  • Athletic Complex - Two storage buildings for equipment and athletic supplies
